上信越高原国立公園の中心、志賀高原の北に位置するカヤの平高原は、
標高約1,400〜1,700mに広がる、約1,450haの雄大な自然エリアです。
この地の最大の魅力は、
樹齢300年を超えるブナの原生林。
人の手がほとんど入っていない森は、
「日本一美しいブナの森」とも称され、
四季を通して豊かな表情を見せてくれます。
トレッキングでは、
光が差し込むブナ林の中をゆったりと歩きながら、
静けさと奥行きのある“本物の森”を体感していただけます。
季節ごとの見どころ
カヤの平高原は、野草や高山植物の宝庫としても知られています。
■ 春（6月頃）
雪解けとともに可憐な山野草が芽吹き、森が一気に生命力を帯びます。
ツバメオモト、サンカヨウ、キヌガサソウ、リュウキンカ など
■ 夏（7月頃）
北ドブ湿原ではニッコウキスゲの群生が広がり、
高原ならではの開放的な景観が楽しめます。
ワタスゲ、ニッコウキスゲ、コオニユリ、ヤナギラン など
■ 秋（10月頃）
ブナの原生林が黄金色に染まり、高原一帯がやわらかな光に包まれます。
標高差のある地形により、黄葉を中心にカエデ類の赤が差し色となり、奥行きのある紅葉風景が広がります。

Located north of Shiga Kogen in the heart of Joshinetsu Kogen National Park,
Kayanodaira Plateau is a vast natural area of approximately 1,450 hectares,
spreading across elevations of about 1,400 to 1,700 meters.
The greatest attraction of this land, is its primeval beech forest, with trees over 300 years old.
This forest, largely untouched by human hands,
is often called “the most beautiful beech forest in Japan,”
showcasing rich expressions throughout the four seasons.
During trekking, you can walk at a relaxed pace through sunlit beech woods,
and enjoy the tranquility and depth of a “true forest.”

Kayanodaira Plateau is also known as a treasure trove of wildflowers and alpine plants.
■ Spring（around June）
As the snow melts, delicate mountain wildflowers begin to sprout, and the forest quickly fills with vitality.

At Kita-Dobu Marsh, colonies of Nikko daylilies spread across the landscape, offering the open scenery unique to a highland plateau.

The primeval beech forest turns golden, and the entire plateau is wrapped in soft light.
Due to the varied elevation, yellow foliage is accented by the reds of maple trees, creating a landscape of vivid depth and color.
